Randy Orton was impressed by the passion of WWE's fans in Lyon, France.

WWE was in Lyon for both SmackDown and Backlash last week. For both shows, WWE had red-hot crowds that made for a memorable atmosphere.

This was the first time France has ever hosted a WWE PPV/PLE. While speaking with Adam's Apple, Orton said he hopes WWE does more premium live events in the country.

WWE also had house shows in Italy, Austria, and France surrounding Backlash. When asked about the difference between crowds in the United States and overseas, Orton told Adam's Apple that it's "night and day."

Do you want me to be honest? Night and day. Well, let’s just put it this way. Since 2009, I’ve had the same entrance song. No American crowd has ever sang along to my song. And they did it in France three nights in a row.

Sh*t, we were in Bologna, Italy and Vienna, Austria the first two shows of the tour and I could hear them singing there too. France, just -- it was mind-blowing. But just as an example.

But yeah, they were very happy to be there. They were on their feet the whole time. They knew all of us, all of our characters well enough to -- they knew what they wanted to expect. We gave it to them. It just made it for an amazing environment. I hope we do more PLEs over there.

Orton was part of the opening match of Backlash, teaming with Kevin Owens in a street fight against Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga. It ended with new Bloodline member Tanga Loa making his WWE debut and helping Sikoa & Tonga get the win.
